![]() Artist Biography“I dream my painting and I paint my dream.” (Vincent Van Gogh) Valentina Zaccaro is an emerging artist from Imperia. Since she was a child, she has always been attracted to every form of art: from music to poetry, from drawing to sculpture, there is no artistic form in which she has not always excelled. All of this combined with her incredible passion for nature and the beauty of what is authentic and uncontaminated. Mountains and forests illuminated by starlight have always been like a second home to her, awakening in her an ancestral and romantic call that flows within many of her works. At the beginning of 2022, she was selected by Vittorio Sgarbi as one of the 100 artists who were able to exhibit their works at the contemporary art exhibition "Artisti d'Italia 2022", held from March 25th to April 25th at Villa Reale in Monza. The exhibition was personally curated by the well-known art critic who, at the opening, wanted to mention Valentina's works, describing the light of her works as "...a form of energy, especially today when energy is so complex to recover". Between late October and early November 2022, Valentina dedicated her first exhibition in Imperia, "Inseguendo le Stelle" (Chasing the Stars) to her hometown. She showcased not only the artworks that have already distinguished her nationwide but also offered several glimpses of Imperia that are perfectly recognizable to anyone who loves our beautiful city. In June 2023, Valentina participated in the Book Fair 2023 and the 6th Edition of the "Mercato Retro", two well-known events in Imperia. From October 1 to 21, 2023, on the occasion of the Centenary Celebrations, Valentina will have the privilege of representing Imperia in its twin city, Friedrichshafen in Germany. The exhibition will be titled "100 Years of Imperia: Impressions of Light and Sea", which in German would be "100 Jahre Imperia: Impression von Licht und Meer". A magnificent display of her works will extend throughout the city center. Inside the Stadtverwaltung Friedrichshafen, the Town Hall, and the Medienhaus am See, the Media Library, various original works paying tribute to the city of Imperia, its fascinating views, its landscapes, and its splendid sea will be exhibited. Walking through the central streets, like Karlstraße and Wilhelmstraße, it will be possible to admire in many shops and windows representations of Imperia, thus celebrating its 100 years through the eyes and hand of the artist. This wonderful initiative, representing the strong bond between the two cities, has been made possible thanks to the association "Friends of Imperia & Friedrichshafen". For Valentina, it will certainly be a great honor to bring a bit of Imperia to the twinned Friedrichshafen, and she is deeply grateful to all the inhabitants for the hospitality and the beautiful initiative.
